Region 8 Gymnastics
Region 8 is comprised of four administrative committee chairpersons and eight committee members that form the governing body. The adminsitrative members are volunteer positions voted on every two years by the region. The committee members are the State Administrative Chairpersons from the eight states comprising Region 8 Gymnastics and are also volunteer positions voted on every two years by the members of the eight states.
Debby Kornegay
Region 8 Administrative Committee Chairman
- Region 8 USA Gymnastics Administrative Chairman since 1997
- Alabama USAG State Chairman 18 years
- Mississippi USAG State Chairman 2 years
- Judges rating since 1975; Brevet Judge since 1993; also holds JO Level 5/6 Compulsory rating
- Gymnast for 11 years. Competed in 1972 Olympic Trials. Coached 15 years.
- Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
- Married to Tuck for 26 years. Two children Rebecca 20 and Marla 16.
Brad Harris
Region 8 Junior Olympic Committee Chairman
- Head-coach and owner of the Tampa Bay Turners Gymnastics and Swimming Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.
- Has qualified over 100 athletes to the J.O. National Championships since 1993.
- Coach of over 10 National Champions and 7 USA National Team Members.
- Coach of 4 athletes with original skills named for them and 18 scholarship recipients.
- Past clinician at Region 4, 7 & 8 Congress'.
- Member of the Florida Administrative Board since 1996.
- Presenter at the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 National Congress'.
Marian Dykes
Region 8 Technical Committee Chairman
- Regional Technical Committee Chair 1979 to present
- Judges rating since 1972; Brevet since 1993; also holds JO Level 5/6 Compulsory rating
- Volunteered since 1976 to both USA Gymnastics and NAWGJ
- Also volunteered to the auxiliary group at Children's Hospital of Atlanta and Peachtree Road Methodist Church
- Blessed to have two wonderful parents, two sisters who are married to brothers and two terrific nieces - Danielle and Lindsey
- Own a CPA firm - often wonder which is my full time job - gymnastics volunteer and judge or my job as a CPA
